Change default search engine

There is no doubt that Chrome is lighter and faster then any browser on the market. But, like all companies, Google forces us to use its search engine with its browser as default. Actually, there is a simple solution for it. I just exaggerated for a shiny introduction.

Right click with your mouse on Chrome’s address bar and go through Edit search engine. Search Engines box should be popped up. You can add/edit/delete search engine entries by the window. Make Default button is to choose your favourite search engine and make it default.

is there a way to make the google chrome omnibox behave like firefox’s search window? If I can’t get a drop down list that let’s me change search engines on the fly (i.e. sometimes I want to search Google, sometimes Wikipedia, sometimes Amazon), google chrome will not be very useful.

still we are using the beta version of Google Chrome. I think we will have the option to change search on engines on the fly in the original version.

actually it adopts the searchengine that the user used in his previous default browser, and after installing it asks you whether you want to use that one or change it.
